Solar Cell Module

Solar Cell Module
Solar Cell Module

can someone help with this physics question?

a commercially available solar cell module puts out 3V and a .1Amp and measures 5 cm by 8 cm. How large an array is necessary to provide an output of 40w?

3V * 0.1amp = 0.3 watts
5 cm * 8 cm = 40 cm^2
0.3 watts / 40 cm^2 = 0.0075 watts/cm^2
So if we want 40 watts, we need 40 / 0.0075 =~ 5333 cm^2
